In Honor of Devon

Devon,

You are still here in ways I did not know were possible. From the dust and the skies you keep teaching me. What you were to me while you were with us lives on, and what you are to me now lives alongside all of my growth.

I do not know what you went through in your final moment. I will not, and nobody will, except you. What I believe is that you chose. You chose what you felt was best for you at that moment. Even if you might not have been thinking as your authentic self in that moment, you had the agency to choose. That is what life is about. Even if I don’t agree with your decision, that doesn’t override how strongly I value the fact you could choose.

Thank you for what your passing has opened in me. It is the biggest transformation I have known, and the truest value I hold in my life. Your moment has become a movement. We are finding other Devons out there. What has come from your passing will reach thousands of lives, if not hundreds of thousands. You and your life are helping save countless lives, because you are with us through this journey.

You are my biggest hero. You live through this company. You live through the memories we carry, and through the impact you keep having on our life. Keep popping in on us. And do not hesitate to share your presence.

I love you, big brother. Then, now, and forever.
Austin

Who Devon Is

He is my older brother.

My #1 archetype. The values he held dear, I have embodied. He pushed me to break through my personal ceilings throughout my upbringing, and every day afterwords. I lean into his passing with love and enthusiasm because of the passion it unlocks within me. Devon lives on.

He is a hero. He is a teacher. He is here in the places where love lives, and he is here in the movement that his life set in motion.

Devon’s moment has become a movement. Because of him, we are finding other Devons out there, and many people are learning the language of their brain.

He is my biggest hero. He lives here.
