Neuroplasticity is the brain’s capacity to reorganize itself in response to experience. It runs the whole lifespan, not only childhood. Neurons form new connections, prune old ones, and rewire around what a person practices. Decades of imaging studies show this at every scale, from a musician’s motor cortex to a taxi driver’s spatial map to a meditator’s attention networks. The mechanism is measurable. The Reticular Activating System, and What You Notice

Attention runs through a small structure at the base of the brain called the Reticular Activating System. It filters the flood of incoming signals down to what matters, and what matters is decided by what the brain has been told to watch for. Buy a red car, and red cars fill the road. Focus on evidence of one belief, and evidence of that belief lands in view. This is not magic. It is filtering. The RAS pulls forward whatever pattern the brain is primed to find, and it lets the rest fall to the background. Priming the Question, Before the Answer

Every module opens with a short questionnaire. It comes first on purpose, before any teaching has landed. The purpose is priming. When the brain reads a question it has yet to answer, it opens a small file and watches for the answer. Whatever comes next, the video, the prompt, the reflection, gets read against that open question. Research on primed attention, from cognitive-load studies to pretesting effects in classroom learning, shows the same shape: a question asked in advance sharpens what the brain retains from what follows. Active Recall, After

Every module closes with a second questionnaire. This one is not priming. It is active recall, one of the most reliably documented levers in the learning sciences. Pulling information out of memory strengthens it more than reading the same information again, and the effect compounds with spacing. The post-module questionnaire gives the member two things at once: a real check on what they learned, and a mirror of how far they have moved. The number on the screen is a byproduct. The rewiring the recall triggers is the point.
